Uncle Tom’s Cabin: Awarded MLA CSE “Approved Edition” Seal, and In Press

The manuscript edition of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, volume 1 in The Collected Works of Harriet Beecher Stowe (CWHBS), has been vetted by the Modern Language Association Committee on Scholarly Editions and will, upon publication, be authorized to display the seal of an “Approved Edition.” Upon publication Stowe will join Willa Cather and Gertrude Stein as the third major American woman writer with an edition that has been granted the committee’s seal. The manuscript has also been submitted and can now be designated “in press.” The CWHBS is pleased to announce this important project milestone and congratulates volume editor Wesley Raabe.
